Cancer Awareness Cake Pops

Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought it would be appropriate to make some breast cancer awareness ribbon cake pops.

These are super easy to make.

Bake your favorite cake. Once it cools, crumble the cake with your hands and add a tablespoon or so of frosting. Once you get the right consistency (moist and shape-able cake without being wet) flatten out a portion of the cake/frosting mixture to about an inch thick.

Now you are ready to shape your cake pop!!

You can easily cut out this shape with a knife or print out a template and cut around it. You may also be able to find a mini cookie cutter that might work well too.

Next, cool the shaped cake pops in the refrigerator for about one hour.

Now you are ready to start melting your chocolate. I went with white chocolate wafers...you can use any color you see fit.

Take your cake pop sticks, dip the tip in your melted chocolate and then insert into the bottom of your cake pop.  Lay flat and let them set. I recommend placing them in the refrigerator until the sticks are firmly in place.

Now lets dip!!!  Try not to swirl much, just dip and pull out :)

Place pops back in the refrigerator to cool.

Tint some fondant in a baby pink color.

Roll out the fondant about 1/8" thick. Now cut strips to use as your ribbon.

Stick the ribbon onto your cake pops using water or corn syrup and you're done!!

Baby Boy Cupcakes

For my newest experiment, I designed my vanilla cupcakes using molding chocolate, butter cream, white chocolate, and marshmallows. This was so much fun!

My first attempt at chocolates

Molding chocolate is so much fun to work with

Luci's Mad Hatter Bridal Shower

Last week I had the pleasure of baking cakes and cupcakes for my brother's fiance's bridal shower. She wanted to go with an Alice in Wonderland theme.  I had a fantastic time making these.

Bridal Bouquet Pops

Today i found a picture in a book for bridal bouquet and top hat cake pops.

I didnt really get the top hat pops down too well but i think the bouquets turned out pretty well.

Im definitely going to have to try these pops again soon.

Zohrab and Luci's Engagement Party

I was so excited when Luci and Zohrab let me decorate their party at the house.

I had so many ideas.

Luci wanted a pink and black theme and I had so much fun with it!

We made some Chocolate covered pretzels....they were such a hit!

These are my mini cakes...I finally had the opportunity to play with edible glitter...loved it!

My cake pops are looking better...but still need improvement. They tasted great though!
